Wow It's Been A Long Time!!

I'm officially the worst blogger ever! But what can I say, things have been really busy. My cute little brother just left on his mission on Wednesday, so we've been up at my parents' house a lot spending time with him and the fam. I didn't realize how hard it would be to send him away for two years. It was very bitter sweet. But he's such a good kid and I'm so proud of him. So, in the midst of all that's been going on, I feel like I haven't had time to get anything done. I haven't even put any Christmas decorations up! How lame is that?! I guess I'm a scrooge this year. Maybe I should work on that tonight, since I'm sitting here doing absolutely nothing! On a different note, Bryan and I have been trying to figure out somewhere to go on a little vacation before the baby comes. We've thought about Hawaii, which is always fun, or maybe a cruise or something. We want to go in January or February, before I get too big and uncomfortable. I told him we could go somewhere with snow so he could go snowboarding, but he said it wouldn't be very fun for him to go by himself and leave me at the hotel or whatever. So... I don't know where to go that would be way fun for both of us. Any ideas?? And as far as the baby goes, things are going really well so far. I still don't feel any different than I did before I was pregnant, so it's hard to believe I even have a baby in my belly. If I didn't have the little pictures of him/her growing, I wouldn't believe it. I feel very blessed for sure. I can't wait to find out what we're having! Not too much longer! But anyway, that's all I got for now. I know I was all over the place in this one, but hey, it's been awhile.

Triathlon

Well, Bryan and I just got back from our triatlon in St. George. It was so awesome and I'd totally recommend it to anyone. It's the greatest feeling crossing that finish line after all the time and effort you put into it, knowing that you just accomplished something. I beat my time by five minutes from last time I did it, so I was stoked about that. And I didn't freak out on the swim like I did last time. I felt so much better! And Bryan totally rocked it! I'm so proud of him! Stephanie and Danny, and our friend Mike did it with us and they did so good too! I have to give a shout out to them cuz they did awesome and it was so fun to do it with friends. Now my big challenge is keeping up the exercise and not getting lazy. We'll see how I do on that one. But I think I'm on board to do this triathlon again next November, if they still do it. I would love to do the one in April, but I'll be huge and uncomfortable and awkward, so that probably wouldn't be the best idea. :)

Another new adventure...

Well, we've got another new adventure coming up, but this one is way different than we've ever done... We are going to... HAVE A BABY!!! It's so crazy, but we're so excited! I just found out 2 weeks ago as a huge surprise. I was at a doctor's visit to figure out why I've been having such irregular menstrual cycles. And keep in mind I had already taken 4 pregnancy tests that all came back negative. The doctor wanted me to do one more pregnancy test just to make sure, and sure enough it came back positive! It was so crazy! So I took a blood test and it came back saying I'm between 6 and 8 weeks along. I went back last week to have my first ultrasound and get a due date and it turns out I was 10 weeks along already and my due date is May 20th! It's so awesome! I had no idea I was pregnant and have been very blessed to not have any sickness (knock on wood) or anything. Just a little tiredness in the afternoons is all. I'm so nervous! I don't think I know how to be a mommy! Oh well, I better learn quick cuz I only have 7 months or less! So anyway, that's our new adventure! Craziness!!!

What's wrong with me?

Ok, embarrassing moment/confession... So I've been sick the last few days with a cold or something, along with a sinus infection. So along with that comes not being able to breath, coughing, sneezing, blah, etc., you know how it goes. Well, I was sitting watching TV with Bryan and I sneezed really hard. Apparently it was a really good one cuz it totally made me pee my pants! I couldn't believe it! It was just a little bit of pee, but still! It was enough to go through my underwear and pants. I felt like an old lady with no control of her bladder! Is this normal? Cuz I felt so dumb, and Bryan just laughed at me and thought it was hilarious! I've heard of this kind of thing happening after you have kids, but I obviously haven't had any kids yet, so I don't know what the deal is. And sometimes it happens when I laugh really hard too. So I've decided I have issues. I guess it could be worse, right? hahaha -I'm a goofball!!

Speechless...

Ok I've totally been slacking lately, but really I've been at a loss for words this whole last couple of weeks. I don't even know why. But here is my lame attempt to recap the last week or so... Well, let's see, what have we been doing?... working, running people to and from the airport, watching Prison Break, reading a good book, trying to exercise regularly (swimming, biking, lifting, hiking, etc.), entertaining Flat Stanley (I'll explain later), trying to be a good wife and good cook (just me of course, I don't think Bryan wants to be a good wife, but whatever), trying to be good friends, playing coed ward volleyball, and having Bryan's parents and one of his brothers staying at our house... I think that's about it.
It's actually been a lot of fun. Bryan's fam was able to come and visit for almost a week. It was really good to see them. Bryan's brother Marc was entertaining as usual. He has Downs Syndrome and is such a sweetheart. He looks up to Bryan so much it's awesome. And he always makes us laugh. Among the funny moments were him pulling me aside and saying that Stephanie Lovio is hot, him "beating" us in arm wrestling and bragging about how strong he is and how weak Bryan is, and of course his WWF poses and moves (he LOVES WWF, or whatever it is called now). So yeah, it was fun to have his family around, especially since we don't get to see them alot.

Ok, the Flat Stanley thing... Our friends from Arkansas (well, their son Jalen) sent us a Flat Stanley that we are supposed to take somewhere around here and show him a good time. We then take pictures of him and write a letter about his experiences. I guess people all over the world do this, but I had never heard of it. But anyway, it's really a cute idea. So after fulfilling our craving of Titos Tacos (SOOO Yummy!) with Stephanie, Danny and Sydney, we went to Santa Monica Pier and brought Flat Stanley along with us. He was able to see some REALLY interesting people, take pictures in front of the ferris wheel, see Sydney's awesome dance moves, and have some yummy funnell cake. Good times!

One more thing... on Saturday morning Bry and I went to the gym and then decided we needed to get the dogs some exercise. I guess we were feeling extra motivated that day because we dedcided to take them on a hike to the cross on the mountain in Simi. It was seriously a perfect day. It was warm but it was so clear and there was a nice cool breeze. The dogs stayed right with us and did so good. We took some pictures at the top. It was beautiful!!

So yeah, I think that about sums it up. I need to be a better blogger in the future, so hopefully I can figure it out and know what to say. I really suck at this!! haha But it's ok right?

Another Adventure!

Alright, I'm doing it again! I signed up for another triathlon. Yea!! It's just a beginner one, and actually it's the same exact one I did in April but this one is on November 15th! It's in St. George and will be totally fun! And I get to get in shape again, so that's a good thing. And Bryan is doing this one with me which will be awesome. I'm way excited! Some people have asked me about my last one and have said they may want to do it sometime. So, if anybody else is interested in doing it, here's the link with all the info...

I love new adventures! Even if it is the second time around!

A Few Different Moments

Ok so here are a few moments from the last week...
1. Shining Moment: So I don't beat Bryan in many things, but I had one shining moment this week when I actually beat him in the wonderful and intense game of Ping Pong! It really was a fluke and I'll probably never beat him again, but I did beat him. And Stephanie beat Danny too! Steph was the true champion though cuz she beat me too. The guys kinda took it hard, they may have cried themselves to sleep, but they got over it. So I just had to take a moment to shout out to the true ping pong champions of the week!
2. Embarrassing Moment: Ok so I was talking to a friend that had read on my blog that olympic speed walking made me laugh. She said that she never saw it, so I was trying to explain to her what they did and how silly it looked, especially the guys, even though it was impressive how fast they go. Well anyway, explaining it to her wasn't working, so I thought I'd try to demonstrate... Bad idea! So I'm walking across the room with my legs straight and my hips going up and down very flambuoyantly and my arms moving side to side, when I look out the window and Bryan and a couple friends were watching me from outside, wondering what in the world I was doing. They just happened to be looking in that direction right when I did it. It was hilarious, but I was totally embarrased. I'm such a geek!
3. I forgot moment: I totally forgot what the other moment was that I was going to share so I'm just going to stop right here. It's kinda late and I'm kinda tired, so I'll just blame it on that. That's all I've got for this week. We'll see what happens next week! :)

The little things...

The last few days I've been thinking about the fun little things that make me smile. What got me started was when I came home the other day and my puppies were SOOO excited! It had been a long day for them. I sat down and they jumped on my lap and licked my face like crazy (kinda gross I know, but it was cute at the time... and it washes off) and wagged their little tails. They are so sweet, it just made my day. We could leave for just 5 minutes and come home and they treat us like we've been gone for a week. Dogs are so awesome! They just love you unconditionally. It's so cute. Then Koa ran and got her ball and came and sat in front of me. It made me laugh, so I thought I'd share. I guess my puppies are like my kids, for now :)
Another thing that got me thinking was my cute husband. He always does things that makes me smile or laugh cuz he's so much fun, but yesterday I was in the shower and Bryan was at the sink shaving. He said my name so I opened the shower door and he had written a message in shaving cream on his chest and had a big grin on his face. It was so awesome! I took a picture of it but he would die if I put it on here. He would probably get me back twenty times worse so I'm not gonna risk it. But it totally made me smile.
Other things that make me smile lately:
Friends that don't take life too seriously
A perfect day at the beach
The funny things kids say and their honesty
Yummy treats
Awesome friends and family being themselves
The olympics- especially speed walking (what an interesting sport)
Dr. Pepper
Just to name a few... But it really is the little things that make a difference, right?!!!

First real blog

Due to popular demand... I'm finally giving this blog thing a try. And hopefully it will be a little more exciting than our first posting! :) Ok so my new adventure this last week (as you can see from the picture...don't worry, I'm not as scary and psycho as I look) was learning to scuba dive. What a trip!! It's so weird being able to breath under water like that. I did my last certification dive out at Anacapa Island. It was so awesome! I totally recommend it. Bryan didn't get to go on this dive with me cuz he had to work so he had to dive in murky water with bad visibility. So no good pictures of him. :( But anyway, Bryan's uncle is a dive instructor and he came out here to certify us. So if anyone is interested in getting certified in the future, I know a guy!!
