Blessings in disguise

Ever feel like you're a major failure? Cuz that's how I'm feeling lately... Let me explain how my day went today. I had to be at work a little early today to open the doors for the massage therapists because the doctor I work for won't be in the office all week, and he's normally the one to open all the doors, etc. Well I can't get out of bed this morning cuz I had a horrible night's sleep, so of course I'm running late. To get to work early I need to leave at 7:25. Today I left at 7:35, which would put me right on time to work, maybe a couple minutes late depending on traffic. So I already feel bad because I've got patients coming into the office at 8:00, and I'm supposed to be dependable... Yeah, well not today. Well as I'm driving to work and I'm about 5-7 minutes away, I start to merge onto the 101 freeway from the 23 and everyone is moving pretty slow. I found an opening to merge over, and just as I did, the car in front of me decided he wasn't ready to merge yet and totally stopped. So I totally tagged the back left of his car!! My first accident! And I think the guy hit someone else too but they took off when they saw the CHP officer, which is kinda interesting, but good for me! So anyway, the damage on my car was enough that I didn't dare drive it, so a tow truck had to come out. And one of the massage therapists had to come get the keys from me , which made her late for her appointment, etc, etc. I felt so bad! Well my stomach was totally in knots and then I remembered, "Hello! I've got a baby in my tummy! I hope he's ok!" I felt ok, but Bryan and I both decided I should go get things checked out just to be safe. I called my doctor's office and they said to go to a hospital and get monitored. So off to Los Robles I go. They asked me what happened and how far along I am, and if I've felt the baby move. I told them I'm 24 weeks along, but haven't felt the baby move yet, that I know of. They were like, "Wait, you're 24 weeks and you haven't felt the baby move? Have you been to a doctor lately?" Ok, they totally freaked me out! Cuz I was already feeling like a bad pre-mom since I hadn't felt him move yet. I've been feeling like I haven't been paying enough attention or something. I have felt no real connection with him yet and it makes me sad. So anyway, they took me up to a room and monitored the baby. While Bryan was down filling out paperwork (he's such a sweetheart by the way), and the nurse was doing whatever she was doing, I was able to sit and relax and listen to the baby's heartbeat and stuff. As I was sitting there, I saw my stomach move a little bit and I really felt him move!! He was moving all over the place! It was so awesome!! I guess I just needed to sit and relax and concentrate for a little bit. It's just funny that it took a really crappy experience for me to open my eyes and remember that everything happens for a reason. And sometimes Heavenly Father blesses us in very unexpected ways. I feel very blessed!

I'm so excited for you to be a Mom. It is unfortunate that we have to have hard reminders sometimes. I hate those times. That's exciting that you felt him move, you'll probably feel it all the time now, especially when he starts taking over all your insides. I'm so excited for you. Sorry about the car, that stinks!!!

So sad to hear about your first accident but glad you are ok!! And how exciting to finally feel the baby move! It just gets better and better (that is until your last few weeks and you wish he would just sit still and stop kicking your bladder and/or your ribs so you can just sit comfortably for a while :)
Can't wait to get out there closer to you guys. Our little guys will be BEST buddies!
